|Name||Vox Populi, Vox Dei (a werewolf thriller)|
Vox Populi, Vox Dei (a werewolf thriller) is a pixelart platformer game in which you must fight werewolves in order to reach the game's end.
You tell yourself you don't care about her anymore. She broke your heart and to forget the pain you throw yourself into your ninja training, pushing your muscles further than any human should rightly expect of their body. You tell yourself it doesn't matter, and for a while you think you might believe yourself. It's not until your friend informs you that she's been kidnapped by werewolves, that you come to understand that it's all a lie. You still love her enough to rip through every single werewolf keeping you from her, or die trying. Enter the dark world of Vox Populi, Vox Dei (A Werewolf Thriller), a platformer by weremsoft.
The protagonist is a blue ninja-like person and you control it using the keyboard. You can use a cloaking device that makes you invisible to patrolling werewolves in order to sneak about by pressing [ctrl]. Be careful, though, for your cloaking device is easily disrupted and if the werewolves spot you, they will shoot at you with their powerful weapons in their chests. That doesn't mean you're completely defenseless. Often, killing the werewolves is preferable to sneaking around.
By jumping from a crouching position, you hurl yourself at the enemy and by repeatedly pressing the [space] bar after connecting, you maul the werewolf over and over until it dies. You may also hold down the space bar instead of mashing it. Again, you'll need to be careful here as defeating an enemy takes some time during which you are completely vulnerable to any other werewolves that happen upon the way. Jumping from a crouching position can also help you to jump further and reach places you cannot normally reach, though your girlfriend can't follow you when you do it.
The graphics are simple and iconic and the gameplay is smooth and challenging. The gameplay works both as an action platformer and a puzzle platformer, testing both your reflexes and your problem solving abilities.
